WHY I CREATED "DANIELLA'S BITES"Â
Food has always been central to my life. Growing up in a large Israeli family, every gathering revolved around it. Whether it was Shabbat dinners, holidays, or casual hangouts, there were always plenty of salads, dips, and traditional Middle Eastern dishes like Hummus, "Bachsh," and "Ktzitzot."
From a young age, I learned that food brings families together. I cherished these gatherings and would often experiment with new recipes to recreate the joy for my loved ones.
When I moved from New York to Miami at the beginning of high school, I found myself in a beautiful new city but missed my family and friends terribly. To compound matters, the Covid-19 pandemic hit, and I began school on Zoom, unable to meet new friends in person. This left me feeling incredibly isolated.
With loneliness weighing heavily on me, I sought solace in something familiar—food. Initially, I focused on eating "healthy," believing it would distract me from my feelings of isolation. However, over time, my obsession with food led to declining health. Food became less about enjoyment and more about anxiety and obligation.
Four years ago, I embarked on a journey to heal my relationship with food. It was a challenging recovery, but through nourishing myself, I rediscovered my passion for cooking and baking, as well as the true meaning of health and nutrition. I learned how certain foods, such as salmon and chia seeds rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, could improve brain function and overall well-being, reshaping my view of food beyond mere calories.
As part of my healing process, I launched "Daniella's Bites." Through this venture, I create recipes and treats that promote health and healing, reigniting my love for food with a new perspective.
"Daniella's Bites" has become a way for me to reconnect with my family and loved ones through food, now focusing on health and holistic nourishment. These struggles have deepened my appreciation for food and wellness, which I am now passionate about sharing with others through delicious treats, recipes, and tips.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story!
